Market context

Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in May 2026, with participating nations submitting their entries and competing across semi-finals and a grand final. The contest's outcome depends on both jury voting and televoting from participating countries, making prediction inherently difficult given the subjective nature of song selection and performance quality across diverse European and international markets.

Historical Eurovision results show that favourites rarely dominate the market with certainty. Since 2015, pre-contest consensus picks have frequently underperformed, with unexpected entries from smaller nations or countries with strong diaspora voting bases occasionally breaking through. The 2024 and 2025 contests demonstrated that early speculation based on artist reputation or production budget proved unreliable; jury preferences, staging execution, and voting bloc dynamics shifted outcomes substantially. Current 0% implied probability suggests either no specific candidate has been formally announced or traders are pricing in genuine uncertainty about which nation will field a competitive entry.

Key catalysts will emerge as participating countries announce their selections throughout late 2025 and early 2026. The European Broadcasting Union typically confirms the contest host nation and participating countries by autumn 2025, with artist announcements following through winter and spring. Traders should monitor official Eurovision announcements for entry confirmations, semi-final draw details (which significantly affect qualification odds), and any rule changes. Recent geopolitical developments affecting participation, particularly regarding Eastern European nations, remain relevant given Eurovision's historical sensitivity to broadcaster participation decisions.

Resolution & payout

Polymarket-based markets settle through the UMA Optimistic Oracle on Polygon. A proposer submits the outcome, a two-hour challenge window opens, and unchallenged proposals finalise the resolution. Payouts settle automatically in USDC the moment the result is final — no bookmaker, no delay.

Kalshi-based markets settle in USD via the CFTC-regulated clearinghouse. Betfair Exchange settles in GBP/EUR net of commission. Manifold is play-money and does not pay out real funds.
